Depending on client needs, Rappold Legal offers either an hourly or flat rate. I only work for as long as a case requires, so you’ll never be billed for unproductive time. Final bills will include costs for copy, filing, and third-party research tools.

Trademark and Service Mark Filings

If you are seeking a trademark or service mark for your business, I charge a flat fee of $750, per filing, including the cost of each filing fee (typically $225-$250). First, please provide the following information about your business. Then, I will send you a simple agreement to sign, regarding my services (mostly elaborated above). And finally, I will get started and contact you if any additional information, documents, etc. are needed. It’s that simple! 1) The name of your business and type of business entity (Partnership, Corporation, LLC, etc.), along with the state of filing, if applicable; 2) A short description of the business, including current and intended geographic reach (typically, national or international); 3) The words, logo(s), and/or slogan(s) you are seeking to protect; 4) The earliest date each mark was used locally (intrastate) and "in commerce" (interstate). These dates can be and are often the same; 4) Examples of the name/logo/slogan as they are used in business (the USPTO refers to these as "Specimens" and pictures are fine); and 5) If applicable, any website of the business.
